Engine Rebuild Booking

✅ What's Included:

• Complete engine strip-down and inspection.
• Replacement of worn or damaged internal components (rings, bearings, gaskets, seals, etc.).
• OEM-grade parts used throughout the rebuild.
• Engine reassembly and testing.
• Labour to strip, inspect, rebuild and test the engine.
• Engine removal and refitting are not included. The engine must be delivered to us out of the vehicle, and fitted afterwards by your own mechanic or garage.

❌ What's NOT Included:

• Turbochargers, injectors, fuel pumps, ECUs – these are considered external components.
• Clutches, flywheels, gearboxes – these are separate from the engine rebuild.
• DPFs, boost pipes, vacuum pipes/connectors, coolant hoses – the engine will be at full strength after rebuild; tired downstream components may not cope.
• Any additional issues discovered during disassembly may result in extra charges (quoted before proceeding).
• Third-party labour or diagnostics performed elsewhere.
• Pre-existing issues.
• Any item not explicitly noted above as in scope or as "whats covered".

💰 Pricing:

• Base rebuild cost is agreed upfront and covers standard internal components.
• If unforeseen damage is found (cracked block, worn camshaft, etc.), you will be notified and quoted before any extra work is undertaken.
• You will not be charged for work you haven't authorised.

🕒 Timeframe:

• Typical parts delivery: 14 working days (subject to availability).
• Typical rebuild turnaround: 7–14 working days post parts arrival.

Note: Delays may occur due to:

• Parts backorders or shipping delays
• Machine shop workload
• Vehicle complexity or unforeseen internal damage

🛠️ Customer Responsibility:

• Ensure vehicle is delivered in a safe, accessible, and serviceable condition.
• Fully disclose any symptoms or known issues prior to drop-off.
• Read and understand our warranty terms before work commences.

🔒 Agreement Confirmation:

• You acknowledge and understand what is and isn't included in the rebuild process.
• You accept that additional charges may arise once the engine is disassembled and further issues are uncovered.
• You authorise Autobits to proceed with the engine rebuild as outlined above.

✅ What's covered

• Internal engine components replaced during your rebuild: pistons and rings, bores, crankshaft and main bearings, con rods and rod bearings, camshafts, timing components, valve train, internal oil pump, and the seals and gaskets fitted during the rebuild.
• Labour and workmanship for covered warranty repairs carried out by Autobits.

📆 Warranty period

• Standard: 3 months or 5,000 km from collection, whichever comes first.
• Extended: 6 months or 10,000 km from collection, whichever comes first (if purchased as an add-on).
• The period runs continuously from the collection date. It ends when the time or km limit is reached.

❌ What's not covered

• Turbochargers, injectors, fuel pumps and the fuel system
• ECUs, wiring, sensors, alternators
• Water pumps, thermostats, radiators, hoses, oil coolers
• Clutches, flywheels, gearboxes, DPFs, EGR valves, exhausts
• Boost pipes, vacuum pipes and connectors, intercoolers, intake manifolds. A rebuilt engine runs at full strength and older parts around it may not cope.
• Customer-supplied parts, or parts sourced at your request with your funds
• Pre-existing issues, third-party labour or diagnostics, and recovery or towing costs
• Anything not listed above as covered

🚫 ECU remapping

⚠️ Conditions you must follow

• Break-in (first 2,000 km): stay under 3,000 RPM, no full throttle, no towing or heavy loads.
• Oil changes: one complete oil change before 500 km, and a follow-up before 1,500 km from collection. The oil spec is in your Engine Handover Document.
• Proof: upload odometer photos and receipts for both oil changes to the Warranty Compliance Portal.
• Missing either oil change voids the warranty.

📞 How to claim

• Stop driving the car if you suspect a fault.
• Submit a claim through the Warranty Claim Portal. If you can't use the portal, email [email protected] with your reg, the problem, your mileage and any photos.
• Calls, WhatsApp messages and verbal complaints can't be logged as claims, so always follow up in writing.
• You arrange transport to our premises at your own cost. We test to find the cause. If a covered part failed, we fix it free. If not, we quote you.

🔒 Other terms

• The warranty is personal to you and ends if the vehicle is sold.
• This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under Irish consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022, and does not affect them.
